Frequently Asked Questions

Most bespoke engagement rings and fine jewellery can be completed within 3-6 weeks. Each piece is designed and crafted by hand by our master bench-jeweller.

We can accommodate a tighter deadline if required, please contact us to discuss. We have delivered completed engagement rings in under 10 days.

Once you select your diamond (or gemstone for Bespoke Jewellery), we ask for a payment.

For engagement rings/jewellery under 100,000HKD we ask for a 50% deposit.

For engagement rings/jewellery above 100,000HKD we ask for a 100% payment upfront.

Please settle the deposit/prepayment within 24-48 hours so that we can secure your stone and begin designing your piece!

For pieces below 100,000HKD once your jewellery is completed and you are notified, we ask the outstanding balance is paid in full before shipping or handing over the piece, to ensure payment clears in time.

On bespoke jewellery, payment is accepted in the form of FPS, bank or Wise transfer. Card payments incur an additional charge of 3.5% due to online processing fees.

If you wish to settle the payment by card, please advise us at the time of deposit payment and we will arrange this for you.

We have a wide network of international suppliers for both diamonds and gemstones, providing us with ethically-sourced and conflict free stones.

For diamonds over 1.00ct we search worldwide for the best stone for you.

For smaller diamonds accenting your piece known as melee, we use local Hong Kong based Sightoholders.

At Valentina Fine Jewellery we only use GIA Certified diamonds for stones over 0.50ct.

If you require lab-grown diamonds, we only use GIA or IGI certified diamonds over 1.00ct.

This ensures consistent quality and client satisfaction.

At Valentina Fine Jewellery, we only deal with reputable large suppliers when purchasing your diamonds, all of which are part of the Kimberly process and guarantee the diamonds to be conflict free and ethical.

We do not source diamonds from countries at war.

If you have jewellery that you no longer love and want to give it a new lease of life, we would love to help you reset this into a design of your choice.

Equally, if you inherited an engagement ring, we are happy to work with you on designing the perfect setting to best enhance the stone you already have.

Valentina Fine Jewellery is based in Hong Kong as well as our Atelier where we make your jewellery. This means we check your bespoke piece every step of the way - from wax print to metal casting, to setting and polishing.

We do not have a showroom but we offer by appointment face to face meeting for our clients in Central in Hong Kong. This is what makes our prices highly competitive.

Valentina Fine Jewellery has clients around the world. We are experts in working with you remotely. It's the same process working remotely as it is in person, the only difference being you view your diamond selection via HD photos and videos.

Not having a physical location means we can pass on the saving to you.

For Hong Kong clients we always aim to meet you face to face.

To ensure we get the ring size correctly, please pop into your local jewellers and ask to be sized up. If you require help with sizing, please get in touch with our team - there are a few tricks we can suggest to get near the right size for engagement rings.

All our bespoke engagement rings made for Hong Kong clients come with one free resizing within 6 months of completing the ring. Should the size not be 100% correct after you propose, please let us know and we will resize free of charge.

For all our bespoke rings and engagement rings we offer complimentary engraving of your choice inside your jewellery.

For online items, payment can be made using all major Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Apple Pay on our website. 

If you wish to use FPS or Bank Transfer to make an online purchase, please contact us.

Our stock is located in Hong Kong. We aim to ship each piece within 2 business days. If you require rush processing, please drop us a message and we will do our best to accommodate.

Hong Kong clients enjoy a complimentary courier service delivery and in person delivery for engagement rings.

International clients enjoy complimentary Fedex worldwide shipping. 

All international orders will be fully insured and require a signature upon delivery.

Hong Kong does not add taxes to diamonds, gemstones or finished jewellery. There is a huge saving to be had when buying from Hong Kong.

We offer complimentary insured worldwide shipping. If your item is highly valuable and you have concerns about shipping, please contact us to discuss.

When shipping, international buyers are responsible for all Import and Customs Duties, Value Added Taxes (VAT), tariffs, brokerage or other fees that may be levied by the destination country.

Valentina Fine Jewellery is not responsible for these fees, nor for Customs related delivery delays.

If the customer refuses delivery due to government levied taxes or fees, incurred costs to return the package to sender are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Fine jewellery is delicate and should be cared for accordingly.

To ensure your jewellery stays beautiful we recommend to remove it before applying shower product, lotion, perfume, or other chemical and/or oil compounds.

Please also remove your jewellery before engaging in strenuous activities like going to the gym.

Before bedtime we suggest to remove your jewellery and store safely.

We do not recommend swimming in your jewellery, in particularly if your pieces contain gemstones.

To clean your jewellery, use a soft toothbrush and dish washing soap and gently scrub.

Do not clean gemstone jewellery with any chemicals, abrasives, or solvents or ultrasonic cleaners as this may cause damage.

Extra care to be taken with gemstones, especially emeralds as there are very delicate. If in doubt, drop us a message and we can walk you through your jewellery care.

Returns are accepted for online store ready to ship purchases only within 3 days of receipt of order for quality issues only, within Hong Kong.

Please notify us immediately of such issue. 

Goods must be returned in their original condition using insured shipping method.

All sales are final for custom orders.

It is our promise that your jewellery is delivered free of quality defects.

Should your piece arrive with a defect, contact us so we can get this taken care of for you.

We offer a complimentary 90 day limited warranty on all fine jewellery purchases within Hong Kong. 

The warranty includes quality issues only that arise from a manufacturing defect, including: loose diamonds/gemstones or loose prongs, missing pavé stones, broken clasps and/or broken soft chain.

This warranty does not cover issues that arise from normal wear and tear, including but not limited to: scratches, dents, stretched or kinked chains, misshapen bands, or cracked stones. Resizes, lost or stolen pieces are also not covered by this warranty.

We are available to help with any wear and tear issues and can repair your pieces for a fee locally in Hong Kong. 

Whilst we do not offer jewellery insurance, we have a recommended broker we personally use for all our insurance needs.

We always recommend you insure your jewellery, either as part of your household insurance or separately.
